Globalicious is also a celebration of cultural diversity. We will offer concerts with music all over the world, dance workshops and will introduce you to the diversity of Brussels and the world.
Globalicious is a party! We will invite local and international dj’s to play global grooves and make you dance till the early morning. We play cumbia, Balkan, Arabesque, global funk, coupé décalé, hip hop, dancehall, reggae…
What Happened in the Tent is a story within which documentary makers Majd Khalifeh and Roel Nollet search for the connecting force of circus. An exchange project between two circus schools, one at the Palestinian West Bank, the other at Molenbeek in Belgium, brings together two groups of youngsters of vulnerable zones.
Majd Khalifeh is journalist at VRT, writer and documentary filmmaker.
Roel Nollet is a freelance journalist and documentary filmmaker.
We will talk with them on their documentary, their look at the connections between West Bank and Brussels.
Nawaris is a great band from Brussels with musicians coming from various countries. They play Arabic music with Western influences. We are proud to announce that their concert will be the première of their album: Migration!
Ahmed Ghanam is without doubt one of the best dabke choreographers at the moment. His dabke classes are very much demanded in Brussels. A unique opportunity to meet him in Ghent.
DJ d.b.h (Restless Leg Syndrome): DJ and producer, part of Restless Leg Syndrome & has a special talent in bringing the crowds on the dancefloor, be it with his legendary sets of hiphop classics, funk, Arabic beats & reggae. For Groovalicious he will play a fine selection of global grooves.
Funk Soul Sista: is a Ghent based dj. She will be playing some of the finest soul & funk grooves out there. You better put on the right dancing shoes on as this lady sets the dance floor on fire.
Bruselo: Philosopher, writer and DJ. Bruselo plays urban roots & global grooves from the mountains of Balkan to the beaches of Brazil: cumbia, Balkan, arabesque, soukous, coupé décalé, hip hop, reggaeton and reggae. Music with groove!
