Globalicious is a cultural event and party launched by dj, philosopher & author Bruselo aka Bleri Lleshi. The aim is to let people dance on global grooves from all over the world, but also raise consciousness by discussing social and cultural issues.
Globalicious is also a celebration of cultural diversity. We will offer concerts with music all over the world, dance workshops and will introduce you to the diversity of Brussels and the world.
Globalicious is a party! We will invite local and international dj’s to play global grooves and make you dance till the early morning. We play cumbia, Balkan, Arabesque, global funk, coupé décalé, hip hop, dancehall, reggae…
Workshops are an opportunity to deepen on a certain topic with two experts. Important to know: the places for the workshops are limited: 20 places maximum so registration in advance is obligatory via Send us your choice between workshop 1 or workshop 2.
Rachida Aziz will be talking about how to make possible space of resistance. She is the founder of Le Space, an importance place of alternative voices and struggles in Brussels.
Sandrine Ekofo will be talking about self-organisation and how communities can use their strength. She is one of the founders of Kilalo, a great project in Antwerp involving youth of African descent.
Rachida Aziz is fashion designer, activist and writer. An important voice in Belgium. She is founder of Le Space and has recently written Niemand zal hier vannacht slapen, a book very well received in the media.
Anya Topolski is an assistant professor in political theory and philosophy at the Radboud University Nijmegen. She obtained her PhD in Philosophy at the KU Leuven, for which she was awarded the Auschwitz Foundation Stichting Prize, with a focus on the political thought of Hannah Arendt and the ethics of Emmanuel Levinas and contemporary Jewish thought.
Katia Tya is passionate all-around dancer. She has been specialised in various dances such as Hip-Hop, Ragga Dancehall, but also Latin dances such as Salsa and Merengue. Katia will be joined by Uriel a talented salsa, cumbia and bachata dancer!
Orquesta Evolucion Latina is one of the best latin bands of Belgium. With 10 artists on the stage playing the best salsa and cumbia expect some latin fire! We are looking forward to their concert.
Bruselo (Globalicious): Philosopher, writer and DJ. Bruselo plays urban roots & global grooves from the mountains of Balkan to the beaches of Brazil: cumbia, Balkan, arabesque, soukous, coupé décalé, hip hop, reggaeton and reggae. Music with groove!
Rokia Bamba (Globalicious): Rokia is a multi-faceted woman with more than 15 years of experience at Radio Campus Bruxelles, co-creator of one of the first hiphop, r&b en funk programs (Full Mix). She is the Massimadi festival host DJ, likes to experiment, to discover eclectic sonorities, and she’s proud to have AfroElectroHipHopFunkyRaggaStyle in her blood! Her main aim? To see everybody groove on the dancefloor!
