Globalicious is a unique concept of cultural event & global grooves party. Our aim is to let people dance on global grooves from all over the world, but also raise consciousness by discussing social and cultural issues. For this edition we have the golden team behind the decks: Rokia Bamba & Bruselo. We start the evening with GlobaTalk. Our special guest is Samira Atillah, a human rights activist. Afterwards hip hop dance workshop with the talented Pisanu Donnez.

She is the Massimadi festival host DJ, likes to experiment, to discover eclectic sonorities, and she’s proud to have AfroElectroHipHopFunkyRaggaStyle in her blood! Her main aim? Workshops are an opportunity to deepen on a certain topic with two experts. Important to know: the places for the workshops are limited: 20 places maximum so registration in advance is obligatory via globaliciousbxl@gmail.com Send us your choice between workshop 1 or workshop 2.
 
Workshop 1:
Rachida Aziz will be talking about how to make possible space of resistance. She is the founder of Le Space, an importance place of alternative voices and struggles in Brussels.
 
Workshop 2:
Sandrine Ekofo will be talking about self-organisation and how communities can use their strength. She is one of the founders of Kilalo, a great project in Antwerp involving youth of African descent.

Rachida Aziz is fashion designer, activist and writer. An important voice in Belgium. She is founder of Le Space and has recently written Niemand zal hier vannacht slapen, a book very well received in the media.
 
Anya Topolski is an assistant professor in political theory and philosophy at the Radboud University Nijmegen. She obtained her PhD in Philosophy at the KU Leuven, for which she was awarded the Auschwitz Foundation Stichting Prize, with a focus on the political thought of Hannah Arendt and the ethics of Emmanuel Levinas and contemporary Jewish thought.

Katia Tya is passionate all-around dancer. She has been specialised in various dances such as Hip-Hop, Ragga Dancehall, but also Latin dances such as Salsa and Merengue. Katia will be joined by Uriel a talented salsa, cumbia and bachata dancer!

Orquesta Evolucion Latina is one of the best latin bands of Belgium. With 10 artists on the stage playing the best salsa and cumbia expect some latin fire! We are looking forward to their concert.

We are happy and proud to announce that starting March 2018 we bring the best of Brussels to Ghent: Globalicious is a unique concept of cultural event & global grooves party. Our aim is to let people dance on global grooves from all over the world, but also raise consciousness by discussing social and cultural issues.

For the first edition we invite the excellent band: Nawaris. DJ d.b.h living in Vienna but with his heart in Beirut will play some of the finest Arab music and old skool hip hop grooves. He will be joined by Funky Soul Sista from Ghent and Bruselo (host Globalicious). Ahmed Ghanam will teach us dabke dance. Majd Khalifeh and Roel Nollet are our special guests and will present their documentary: What happened in the tent. As you see a fantastic program!

What Happened in the Tent is a story within which documentary makers Majd Khalifeh and Roel Nollet search for the connecting force of circus. An exchange project between two circus schools, one at the Palestinian West Bank, the other at Molenbeek in Belgium, brings together two groups of youngsters of vulnerable zones.

Globalicious New Year’s Party w/ Les Nouveau Nes, Dj Kisa & Bruselo

We are very happy to announce that we organise a Globalicious New Year’s Party at the amazing La Tricoterie!

It is going to be a total blast! We start the evening with some tapas and for the first 100 people a free welcome drink. Afterwards concert with Les Nouveaux Nes, an excellent Brussels band playing afro-funk, rumba and soukouss. There is no better music than this to celebrate the beginning of a new year 😉

After the concert dj’s with our favorite: DJ Kisa! One of the top female dj’s who has played in the biggest festivals and venues in Europe. Bruselo, host of Globalicious is teaming up with Kisa.

Samira Saleh has found a way to turn her feelings into spoken word. She switches between serious poems and funnier work without a problem, all this without losing the will to share a message. However light the poem may seem, Samira’s work will always carry a deeper meaning for the listening ear. Winner of last year’s BILL-Award in the Speaking category. Keep an eye out for this badass upcoming poet! The revolution will not be televised, she will be heard!
