Workshops are an opportunity to deepen on a certain topic with two experts. Important to know: the places for the workshops are limited: 20 places maximum for each of them so registration in advance is obligatory via globaliciousbxl@gmail.com

Workshop 1: How to get organised?
Rob Kaelen works for the coalition ‘You don’t lock up a child’. It is a coalition of 325 organisations standing up against the government policies to lock up migrant children. He will show how they did organise and give tips and tricks to create resistance from bottom up. Come and get inspired!

Workshop 2: How to get politicized?
Gjovalin Macaj is assistant professor at Leiden University. He will be discussing how to politicize human rights and stand up for people whose rights are being violated.

Bernard De Vos is General Delegate for Children’s Rights. He is the author of several books and articles on childhood and youth issues.

Samira Atillah is writer and human rights activist. She is one of the most fierce critics of the Belgian government in particular on issues related to migration.

Marina Calculli is assistant professor at University of Leiden. She is the author of several books and specialist of Middle East politics.

Amir Jafari is student and originally from Afghanistan. He was 12 when he came to Belgium as refugee. Already at that age he stood up for his right and took different actions such as long walk to demand attention for children refugees and their situation.

Uriel is a talented teacher of bachata, salsa and cumbia. He mixes afro and latin traditions together in beautiful moves.

Patasola is one of the best-kept secrets and above all one of the best groups in Brussels for dancing! From the Cumbia firmly anchored in its roots and boosted by a phenomenal energy, Patasola will colour the evening with compositions borrowed from the Afro-Indian cultures of the Caribbean and Pacific shores of Colombia but also with mapale, chirimia and other styles, including salsa and funk. Put your dancing shoes on!

DJ Makala is one of the most important dj’s, musicians and remixers of Global Grooves in Spain and beyond. He has been playing and spreading grooves for more than 20 years. He will come to Brussels together with Jimmy Bidaurreta to introduce their new album ‘Descarga libre’. We are very happy to have them at Globalicious Festival!

We are happy and proud to announce that we bring the best of Brussels to Ghent: Globalicious is a unique concept of cultural event & global grooves party. For the third edition we invite one of the best African bands in Belgium and beyond: Dzidzolie. Our special guest is the lawyer and Benoit Dhondt.
